Waves of Mercy

“I am the bread of life. He who comes to me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.” ~John 6:35  Â
It was a very lonely day when she entered the noise-filled room . She felt the glare of condemnation as she walked toward the One who would either accept her and change her life or reject her and cause her much public humiliation.
Fear and anxiety pulled at her as she faught to place one foot in front of the other and make her way across the crowded room. She wondered, “What are people going to think? What will they say?” Then she looked into His eyes and bowed at His feet.
To her amazement, His eyes were not filled with condemnation. Instead, rivers of mercy flowed forth as the power of His love overwhelmed her and took her breath away. She began to weep with the understanding of His acceptance. With each tear came healing – emotional, physical, & spiritual – like she had never known or felt before!
His eyes were like none she had ever seen before; His touch was like nothing she had ever experienced; and His voice broke down every stronghold of hurt and rejection she had experienced over the years of her life.  Â
At that very moment of time, her life was forever changed!
She no longer cared about what others thought of her. She no longer felt the shame and disgrace of her past. She no longer was overwhelmed with the disappointments and discouragements of past circumstances.  Her only concern was that she had pleased the Master.
What are your concerns today? Are you burdened with fear or anxiety as you wonder what others will think or say about you? Are you overwhelmed by the whispers of the enemy? Do you continually worry about gaining the approval of those you care about?
Proverbs 29:25 says, “The fear of man brings a snare [trap] but whoever trusts in the Lord shall be safe.”
Be encouraged today: Look into the eyes of the Lord. When we go before Him, willing to let go of the things that bind us and “move through the crowd” to worship Him on a more intimate level, there is nothing that can keep us from experiencing His awesome mercy. It’s ONLY HIS APPROVAL that matters!
