“Dear friend, guard Clear Thinking and Common Sense with your life; don’t for a minute lose sight of them. They’ll keep your soul alive and well, they’ll keep you fit and attractive.” ~Proverbs 3:21-22 (The Message)
In the hustle and bustle of life, it’s extremely important to keep balance in our daily activities, relationships, and responsibilities.
When things seem out of control, it’s good to re-evaluate your commitments and be realistic with prioritizing and/or elimnating each of them. Below are a few tips to help you do this:
- On a sheet of paper, write down everything you have commited yourself to or are responsible for (include family responsibilities, church responsibilities, jobs, extra-curricular activities, etc.)
- Highlight the things that are ABSOLUTELY necessary
- Place an “X” over the things that could be eliminated
After completing these three steps, number 1-5 on a separate piece of paper.
List in order of importance the highlighted responsibilities.
Remember, your priorities should follow this standard: God first, family second, then other responsibilities in descending order.
There’s a popular country song that has the line, “Live like you were dying”. Think about it…..It might help you maintain your priorities!
